Important!!!
Read Instructions carefully.

Remove each stainless rocker piece and check
the fit and curvature to the vehicle body before
removing the 3M adhesive liner. Item must
match contour of the vehicle exactly. This can
be accomplished by gently hand forming the
piece to the desired shape*.

Remove the liner of the tape only when the
rocker panel is ready to be applied to the ve-
hicle. After removing the liner of the rocker
panel be careful not to contaminate the adhe-
sive.

Align the door piece first. Apply the door panel
by aligning it with either the lower edge of the
door or the body side molding, depending on
the make or model. Use firm hand pressure to
ensure best adhesion. Align and install all other
pieces making sure they match up and are
aligned properly with the door panel already
installed.

* All panels are numbered from front to back
such as P1, P2, P3 or D1, D2, D3, etc.…
The “P” stands for passenger and the "D”
stands for driver.
** Vehicles equipped with chrome fender
wheel trim may need to have the molding
loosened and the panel tucked under the
molding. The molding can then be laid over
the panel and retightened.

Installation of Rocker Panels

The surface of the vehicle must be free

of any solvents, waxes, dirt, oil, road tar, and
any dealer or owner applied paint sealer treat-
ments. A solvent wash which removes all con-
taminates should be used before applying
rocker panels. Automotive degreasers such as
3M Adhesive Cleaner (PN 08984) can be
used. After cleaning surface with degreaser
the entire surface must then be wiped down
with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Use
only clean, lint-free cloths or disposable wipes
such as Kim-Wipes in cleaning the surface.
Reprocessed rags should not be used as the
may contain waxes. The surface of the vehicle
is now ready to begin installing the rocker
panels.

1. The temperature should be at least

65

o

F. at the time of installation.

2. Do not install the rocker panels on

newly painted vehicles. Paint must
completely cure before rocker
panels can be installed.

3. The vehicle must be clean, dry and

free of any solvents or waxes to
obtain the best adhesion.

4. When the rocker panel adhesive

touches the vehicle surface it will
adhere immediately
, not allowing
any adjustment. Be sure alignment
is correct before installing.
