STEINEL America warrants its products against
defects in material or workmanship for a period
of fi ve years. STEINEL will replace or repair the
item provided that it has not been altered or
subjected to abuse, accident, improper installa-
tion or improper use. There are no obligations or
liabilities on the part of STEINEL for consequen-
tial damages arising out of or in connection with
the use or performance of this product or other
indirect damages with respect to loss of property,
revenue, or profi t, or cost of removal, installation
or reinstallation.

Fixture Mounting
Installation
• Mount the occupancy sensor to the front
of the EM 1 with provided lock nut.
• Place the 1/2” chase nipple through the
washer and oval hole on the back of the
EM 1 and secure with a lock nut to a
knockout at the end of the fi xture.
• Run sensor wires through the EM 1 and
terminate in the fi xture.
• Place front and back covers on the EM 1.
Example of the EM 1 used to mount the HBS 300 high
bay occupancy sensor to a fi xture. Here, the knockout at
the end of the fi xture is located greater than 1/2” from
the bottom edge of the fi xture.

Product Description
The EM 1 Extender Module is used with
STEINEL high bay occupancy sensors. It
is recommended if the knockout at the end
of the fi xture is located greater than 1/2”
from the bottom edge of the fi xture.
