TOOLS REQUIRED: Utility knife, flat screwdriver or clip remover, 10mm, 16mm, 17mm wrenches & sockets; ratchet or impact gun to suit; 100 Ft-lb torque wrench
OUTILS REQUIS:Couteau, tournevis plat ou outils pour enlever les attaches, douilles et clés de 10mm,16mm, clй а cliquet ou clй а chocs si nécessaire; clé dynamométrique de 100 pi-lbs.
INSTRUCTIONS
Install Overview:
The rear plastic bumper fascia (bumper cover) and lower cover is temporarily removed. The inner steel bumper panels and Styrofoam pad are
permanently removed and replaced by the hitch. The hitch is installed into the frame rails. Note; fascia trimming required obtain customer
approval first. The fascia is trimmed and then reinstalled on the vehicle.
Fascia removal:
1. Remove five existing flange nuts to remove the lower cover.
2. With the rear hatch open remove two bumper hex bolts, remove two plastic clips from bumper (one panel each side). Remove three hex
head screws each side. Carefully remove fascia. Note; the fascia is still held in place by clips along the top of the fascia, the fascia has to
be pulled out of the fascia clips.
3. Remove two bumper panels and the Styrofoam bumper pad Note; the Styrofoam panel may be trimmed to fit with the hitch. Return parts to
customer.
4. Trim fascia. Reinstall the fascia after the hitch is installed. Note; existing fascia hardware must be reused to reinstall the fascia.
Instructions:
1. Carefully slide hitch assembly (A) into the frame rails as shown in illustration. Line up the weld nuts on the hitch assembly with existing
holes in the frame.
2. Loosely attach the hardware as shown in the illustration.
3. Torque all hitch hardware to 36 ft-lbs.
4. Carefully reinstall fascia and lower panel.
5. Place drawbar (B) into hitch assembly (A) and insert pull pin (C) into end of drawbar (B). Use pin clip (D) to hold pull pin (C) in place.
