POWER ON / AUTO OFF
1. Make sure the ON/OFF Switch on the Kettle is in the OFF (0)
position. Fill the Kettle with water up to the MAX Water Guide.
2. Gently position the Kettle over the power connector
and centered on the Power Base, taking care not to
spill any water.
3. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
4. Press the ON/OFF Switch down to ( I ) t o turn the Kettle ON.
5. When the water has boiled, the Kettle will turn itself OFF
automatically and the Switch will raise to the OFF (0) position.
6. To turn the Kettle OFF before the water boils, manually move
the ON/OFF Switch up to the OFF (0) position, or simply lift the
Kettle from its base. Your Kettle will turn OFF and the Switch will
return to the OFF (0) position automatically.
NOTE: When you lift the Kettle from its Power Base, you may
see moisture on the surface of the Power Base. This is
the steam used to turn the Kettle OFF automatically
after boiling, which then condenses and is allowed to
escape via vents in the underside of the Kettle. This is
perfectly normal, and should not be a cause for alarm.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of splashing water, pour slowly and do
not over-tilt the Kettle.
WARNING: When filling or carrying the Kettle, do not tilt it
backward, as this may allow water to pass on to the
control area through the steam opening. Should this
occur, the Kettle must be emptied and allowed to dry
completely before use.
WARNING: Do not turn the Kettle ON unless it contains at least
350ml (12 fl oz/2 cups) of water. Misuse of this kind will
shorten the life of the element.
BOIL-DRY AUTO OFF
If the Kettle is accidentally turned on when it does not contain
sufficient water, a boil-dry device will automatically turn it OFF.
Unplug the Power Base from the electrical outlet. Remove the
Kettle from the Power Base. Wait until the Kettle has cooled down
before filling, as the element will be hot and spitting may occur.

REMARQUE : Lorsque vous soulevez la bouilloire de son socle
d’alimentation, il se peut que vous aperceviez
de l’humidité sur la surface du socle. Il s’agit là
de l’humidité utilisée pour éteindre la bouilloire
automatiquement après ébullition, qui se
condense et s’échappe en passant par des
orifices situés sur l'envers de la bouilloire. Ceci est
n o rmal et ne doit pas être source d'inquiétude.
AVERTISSEMENT : Afin d’éviter les éclaboussures d’eau, verser
lentement et ne pas trop incliner la bouilloire.
AVERTISSEMENT : Lors du remplissage ou du transport de la
b o u i l l o i re, ne pas l'incliner vers l'arrière, car ceci
pourrait perm e t t re à l'eau de s'infiltrer dans le
panneau de commandes par l'ouverture de
l'échappement vapeur. Si ceci se produisait, il
faudrait alors vider la bouilloire et la laisser sécher
complètement avant de l'utiliser à nouveau.
AVERTISSEMENT : Ne pas mettre la bouilloire en marche si elle ne
contient pas au moins 350 ml d’eau. La durée
de vie de l'élément se trouverait abrégée par
un usage impropre de ce type.
ARRET AUTOMATIQUE DE CHAUFFE A VIDE
Si la bouilloire est accidentellement mise en marche lorsqu’elle ne
contient pas une quantité suffisante d’eau, un mécanisme de
chauffe à vide l'éteint automatiquement.
Débrancher le socle d’alimentation de la prise de courant. Retirer
la bouilloire du socle d’alimentation. Attendre que la bouilloire
refroidisse avant de la remplir, car l'élément sera chaud, ce qui
pourrait occasionner des crachements d'eau.
BOUILLIR DE L’EAU UNE DEUXIEME FOIS
Eteindre la bouilloire pendant 15 minutes et la laisser refroidir.
AVERTISSEMENT : L'eau risquerait de surchauffer et de la vapeur
chaude pourrait jaillir de la bouilloire si on ne la
laisse pas refroidir. La vapeur chaude peut
causer des brûlures graves.
