Recording to MDs and cassette tapes

Analogue recording

Digital recording

You can record to an MD or cassette deck
without sound being affected by copy
guards if you use analogue connection.

You can record the digital signal directly
onto an MD. All signals will be converted to
48 kHz linear PCM.

Ensure the following conditions are met.
•There is no copy guard recorded on the

disc.

•The recording equipment can handle a

sampling frequency of 48 kHz/16 bit.

■ To make an analogue recording

1. Connect the recording equipment with a

stereo

same method used for connecting a
2-channel amplifier or mini-system

2. Set “7 Speaker Setting" to “2-channel”

(• page 38).

• If this is set to “Multi-channel”, only the

audio for the front 2 speakers will be

recorded.

■ To make a digital recording

1. Connect the recording equipment with

an optical fiber cable pages 35 and
36).

•When connecting directly, use the

same method used for connecting a

2-channel digital amplifier or mini­

system (“* * page 36).

Change the digital audio output settings

Using headphones

•Turn down the volume before connection, and then adjust the level.
• Headphones with a 3.5 mm (Vs") stereo plug can be connected.
