Enjoying virtual surround effects with
headphones or 2 speakers

(Dolby Digital, 2 or more channels)

•Connect headphones or 2 external

speakers pages 31,36).

•Turn off the surround effects on the equip­

ment you have connected.

Virtual Surround Sound (V.S.S.)

V.S.S. adds breadth to sound, allowing

you to enjoy a surround-like effect even

if you are using only 2 front speakers or
headphones.

There are 2 V.S.S. modes
V.S.S.

: for 2 external

speakers

Headphone V.S.S.: for headphones

(factory preset)

If the disc has surround signals
recorded on it

As well as sound having more breadth,
surround sound will also seem to come
from non-existent speakers to the side
of the listener.
