How it Works:
The PetSafe
® Universal Pet Bed Warmer is designed with your pet’s safety and comfort in mind. Uniquely combined with a padded layer, controlled
therapeutic heat and the ProFlex ™ Safety Layer, it creates the ideal heated environment when added to your pet’s own bed or cushion. The Universal Pet Bed
Warmer emits warmth at a controlled level and is insulated with padding for safety and comfort for your pet.
Do not expect this product to feel similar to a human heating pad. Temperatures that feel warm to the human touch are too warm for extended use by your
pet. Controlled levels of insulated heat enable your pet to enjoy the Universal Pet Bed Warmer for several hours at a time.
Installation:
Insert the PetSafe
® Universal Pet Warmer into a pet bed or cushion that has a removable cover or pad. Place the Universal Pet Bed Warmer with side marked
“This Side Up” facing upward as it is inserted under or into the best opening of your pet bed. Securely close the cover around the cord or arrange the cord to
safely exit the pet bed or cushion. Plug the Universal Pet Bed Warmer’s quick power connector to the AC adapter connection. Properly plug the AC adapter
into a standard polarized wall outlet and position the cord out of the path of foot traffi c.
If using the Universal Pet Bed Warmer within a pet crate or kennel, allow suffi cient space for your pet to be able to move off the heating unit. Periodically remove
your pet from the heating unit if your pet is unable to remove himself due to physical limitations. Never confi ne your pet onto the Universal Pet Bed Warmer.
Operational Test:
How to test if your Universal Pet Bed Warmer is working properly:
1. Plug the Universal Pet Bed Warmer into a polarized standard wall outlet.
2. Wrap product in a blanket with side marked “This Side Up” facing
upward to capture the heat produced.
3. Wait 30 minutes.
4. Place your hand between the blanket and the heater, and you should feel
warmth generated by the Universal Pet Bed Warmer.
Safety Warnings:
• Read all instructions before use, keep these instructions for future reference
and do not discard.
• This product is designed for pets only and is not intended for human use.
• Insure this product is used only on a standard 120 volt AC circuit outlet.
• Do not crush, deform, fold or immerse in liquid. Doing so may result in fi re.
• Inspect this product before and periodically during use. Discontinue use if
damage or deterioration, such as checking, blistering, cracking, chewing or
deformation. Continued use may result in injury or property damage.
• Do not allow your pet to chew on the power cord or heating unit.
• Never pull the heating pad by the power cord or use the power cord
as a handle.
• Use this product indoors only.
• Close supervision is required when an appliance is used near children.
• Carefully position the product so the pet cannot remove it.
• Do not confi ne your pet to the heating unit.
• Periodically remove your pet from the heating unit if your pet is unable to
remove himself due to physical limitations.
• If using the heating unit within a pet crate or kennel, allow suffi cient space
for your pet to be able to move off the heating unit.
• Keep the heating unit dry.
• To avoid tripping, always position the heating unit power cord exiting the
bed out of the path of foot traffi c.
• Do not use the heating unit near heaters, open fl ames or on top of surfaces
that may be damaged by heat.
• Unplug the heating unit when not in use.
• Do not use pins or other metallic means to fasten the product in place.
• There are no serviceable items in this product; do not attempt to
disassemble.

Cleaning Instructions:
Unplug the Universal Pet Bed Warmer from the wall outlet or from the
quick power connector. Wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not
use chemicals or detergent to clean. Do not immerse the heating unit,
power cord or plug in water or other liquid. After cleaning, ensure that the
Universal Pet Bed Warmer is completely dry before plugging in.
Extension Cord Information:
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an
extension cord is used, the following safety requirements should be
considered:
1. The marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the Universal Pet Bed Warmer.
2. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over furniture
where it can be pulled on or tripped over.
3. Never allow your pet to chew on the extension cord.
