INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

FORCED AIR HEATERS - TYPE RGE

CAUTION

To ensure unrestricted air flow through the heater and avoid high

temperatures on any adjacent surfaces, the sides, rear and top

of the heater case should be spaced away from walls and ceiling

not less than the minimum distances marked on the nameplate.

MOUNTING

The heater may be suspended from a truss of suitable support

by a bolt through the catalog number CB swivel bracket (A), Fig.

1, or may be bolted to a wall bracket (B), catalog number WB

Fig. 2, and swivelled to face any direction. The heater may be

suspended by two tie bolts with jam nuts (C), which should be

tightened down against the top of the case, Fig. 3.

The tie bolts may be fastened to the catalog number CB bracket

(A), allowing the heater to swivel, Fig. 4.

POWER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS

The power supply may be single or three phase as shown on

the nameplate. Wiring diagrams are on the inside of the terminal

compartment cover which is the removable right hand side panel.

Connection box volume: 2-10kW: 9893cm

3

15-40kW: 32333cm

3

GROUNDING

A ground screw with a cup washer is located beside the terminal

block.

OVER-HEAT PROTECTION

In the event of fan failure, an automatic reset limit switch opens a

contactor control circuit, breaking the power supply to the heater.

Models without a built-in contactor should have the limit switch

wired in the control circuit of an external contactor, and for three

phase supply, this control circuit should be connected to lines 2

and 3 which feed the centre heating element, as shown in the

wiring diagrams.

The limit switch is rated 600 volts, 10 Amps resistive.

The fan motor has built-in thermal overload protection.

LOUVRED GRILLE

The grille bars all move together and can be set at any angle between

10° and 35° down when the two bottom screws are loosened. The

bars are locked in position when these screws are tightened.
