Using “Memory
Stick”
The “Memory Stick” is a new light and small
recording media which, despite of the size, can
store greater data than a floppy disk.
In addition to exchanging data between
“Memory Stick” compatible equipment, you
can also use a “Memory Stick” to store data as
a type of detachable external recording media.
There are 2 types of “Memory Stick”: an
ordinary “Memory Stick” and a “MagicGate
Memory Stick” that is equipped with the
MagicGate*
1) copyright protection technology.
You can use both types of “Memory Stick”
with your camcorder. However, because your
camcorder does not support the MagicGate
standards, data recorded with your camcorder
is not subject to MagicGate copyright
protection.
In addition, you can also use “Memory Stick
Duo” or “Memory Stick PRO” with your
camcorder.
All “Memory Stick” media operations are not
necessarily guaranteed.

File format
Still image (JPEG)
Your camcorder compresses and records
image data in JPEG (Joint Photographic
Experts Group) format. The file extension is
.jpg.
Exif * Ver.2.2 JPEG compliant, DPOF
compatible
* Exif: Exif is a file format for still images,
established by the Japan Electronics and
Information Technology Industries
Association (JEITA). Files in this format can
have additional information such as your
camcorder’s setting information at the time
of recording.
Moving picture (MPEG)
Your camcorder compresses and records
picture data in MPEG (Moving Picture Experts
Group) format. The file extension is .mpg.

Utilisation du
« Memory Stick »
Le « Memory Stick » est un nouveau support
d’enregistrement compact et léger, qui, malgré
sa taille, peut mémoriser plus de données
qu’une disquette.
Outre l’échange de données entre des
appareils compatibles « Memory Stick », vous
pouvez également utiliser un « Memory Stick »
pour enregistrer des données comme support
d’enregistrement externe amovible.
Il existe 2 types de « Memory Stick » : le
« Memory Stick » standard et le « MagicGate
Memory Stick » qui est doté de la technologie
de protection des droits d’auteur MagicGate*

Vous pouvez utiliser ces deux types de
« Memory Stick » avec le caméscope. Les
données enregistrées avec le caméscope ne
sont toutefois pas soumises à la protection des
droits d’auteur MagicGate car celui-ci ne
prend pas en charge les normes MagicGate.
Vous pouvez également utiliser un « Memory
Stick Duo » ou un « Memory Stick PRO » avec
le caméscope.
