Using a Combination Extension

A combination extension is a 10U100 Cordless Headset Telephone (or other type of

standard telephone device) that shares a single extension with an analog telephone.

Using the Cordless Headset Telephone and an analog telephone in a combination

extension is fairly simple. The main thing to understand is that the two devices share

a single analog extension in the same way several home telephones share a single line.

For example:

• Both phone and headset share the same extension number.

• Both phone and headset share the same "voicepath", that is, when either one is

busy, the extension is busy.

• An incoming call rings at both devices.

In the combination extension, an analog telephone works like it always does and

the 10U100 works like it always does when connected to the analog telephone.

And, only one device can be used at a time, unless you want to join the two on

a single call, the same way your home phones can have two people on the same

call on different telephones.
