Charging the batteries with an external battery charger

Check that the battery charger is suitable by referring to the Battery Charger Manual. The battery charger voltage rating is 12
V.

CAUTION!
Use a battery charger suitable for the type of batteries installed.

Disconnect the battery connector (33) and connect it to the external battery charger.
Connect the external battery charger to the electrical mains.
After charging, disconnect the external battery charger from the electrical mains and from the connector (33).
(For WET batteries only) check the level of electrolyte inside the batteries (32). If necessary, top up through the caps (38).
Connect the battery connector (33) to the machine.
Close the hood (31). The machine is ready to be used.

Charging the batteries with the electronic battery charger (optional)

(For WET batteries only) check the level of electrolyte inside the batteries (32). If necessary, top up through the caps (38).
When the correct level is reached, clean, if necessary, the upper surface of the batteries.
Leave all the caps (38) open for battery charging.
Connect the electronic battery charger cable (35) to the electrical mains.

WARNING!
The mains voltage and frequency must match the electronic battery charger values (see the Battery Charger
Manual).

NOTE
When the electronic battery charger is connected to the electrical mains, all machine functions are automatically
disabled.

When the green warning light (62) turns on, the batteries are charged.
For further information about the battery charger operation (34), see the Battery Charger Manual.
Disconnect the electronic battery charger cable (35) from the electrical mains and place it in its housing on the machine.
(For WET batteries only) Close all the caps (38).
Close the hood (31). The machine is ready to be used.

HOOD SAFETY SWITCH OPERATION CHECK

Open the hood (7) when the machine is off.
Try to start the machine by turning the ignition key (61) to "I". The machine should not start. Turn the ignition key (61) to "0".
Close the hood (7).
Start the machine by turning the ignition key (61) to "I".
Open the hood (7). The machine should turn off immediately.
Turn the ignition key (61) to "0".
Close the hood (7).
If the machine keeps operating when the hood (7) is open, contact an authorised Service Center or Retailer immediately.

FUSE CHECK/REPLACEMENT

Drive the machine on a level ground. Make sure that the machine cannot move independently; if equipped, press the pedal
brake (26).
Turn the ignition key (61) to "0".
Open the hood (7).
Disconnect the battery connector (33).
Remove the protection and check/replace the relevant fuse among the following:
F1

60 A main fuse (36)

F2

15 A side broom fuse (37)

Perform steps 3 and 4 in the reverse order.
