Setting the time code

(T SET)

TC generator switch

When recording manually by setting the
initial value of the time code

This procedure is followed to set the initial value of the
time code for manual recording or 1ST EDIT.

1

Set the TC generator switch of the VTR which is to
be used for recording to R-RUN (REC RUN) or F-
RUN (FREE RUN).
In the REC RUN mode, the time code advances
only while recording is in progress.
In the FREE RUN mode, the time code advances
as soon as the time code setting is completed (and
it advances all the time while the power is kept on).

2

Press the T SET ([SHIFT] + [3]) button.

3

Use the numeric input buttons to input the initial
value of the time code to be recorded.

4

Press the ENTER button.

5

When recording manually by presetting the user’s
bit as well, perform the following settings 1
through 4.
1 Align the cursor with setup menu item No.574

(UB PRESET).

2 Press the T SET ([SHIFT] + [3]) button.
3 Use the numeric input buttons to input the

desired user’s bit value. (See page 75)

4 Press the ENTER button.

<Note>
When recording manually, the initial value of the time
code can be set by setting the TC generator switch to
R-RUN or F-RUN regardless of what is selected as
the setup menu item No.504 (REGEN MODE) setting.

6

Select the VTR to be used for recording, and press
the REC button and PLAY button to start the
recording.
