Operation methods

Analog component signals and analog composite
signals can be input and recorded using VTR1.
Recording with the 625i system is not possible.

Set the OPERATION MODE mode switch (page
13) to SEPARATE.

Select whether the signals are to be recorded in
the 50 Mbps mode or 25 Mbps mode using setup
menu item No.012 (SYS FORMAT).

Check that “525” has been selected as the setup
menu item No.070 (TV SYSTEM) setting.
<Note>
When the “525” or “625” setting has been changed,
turn off the power and then turn it back on again.

Select whether to input analog component signals
or analog composite signals using setup menu
item No.670 (V IN SEL).

Selecting the input audio signals
Set the ANALOG AUDIO IN switch and connect
the signals to the rear panel connectors as
described on page 26.

Select VTR1 using the VTR1 button, and press the
PLAY button while holding down the REC button.

To stop recording, press the STOP ([SHIFT] +
[PLAY]) button while VTR1 is selected.
Recording can also be stopped by pressing the FF
button and REW button at the same time.

Analog component signals, analog composite signals
and serial component digital signals can be input and
recorded using VTR2.
With the 625i system, only serial component digital
signals can be recorded.

Recording external input signals
using VTR2

To stop recording, press the ALL STOP button.
Recording can also be stopped by pressing the
STOP ([SHIFT] + [PLAY]) button while VTR2 is
selected or by pressing the FF button and REW
button at the same time.

Check that “525” has been selected as the setup
menu item No.070 (TV SYSTEM) setting when
analog signals are to be input.
When SDI signals are to be input, select “525” or
“625” depending on the input signals.

When the “525” or “625” setting has been
changed, turn off the power and then turn it back
on again.

VTR1 and VTR2 cannot be set to different TV
systems.
