x DISTANCE
The default distance setting for the speakers in
relation to the listening position is shown below.
Be sure to change the value in the Setup Display
when you move the speakers.
Notes
• When you set the distance, the sound cuts off for a
moment.
• If all front and surround speakers are not placed at an
equal distance from your listening position, set the
distance according to the closest speaker.
• Do not place the surround speakers farther away from
your listening position than the front speakers.
x LEVEL
You can vary the level of each speaker as
follows. Be sure to set “TEST TONE” to “ON”
for easy adjustment.
x BALANCE
You can vary the balance of the left and right
speakers as follows. Be sure to set “TEST
TONE” to “ON” for easy adjustment.
To adjust the volume of all the
speakers at one time
Use the VOLUME control on the receiver, or
press VOLUME +/– on the remote.
x TEST TONE
The speakers will emit a test tone to adjust
“LEVEL” and “BALANCE.”
FRONT
3 m/10 ft Front speaker distance from the
listening position can be set in 0.3
metre (1 ft) increments from 0.9 to 6.9
metres (3 to 23 ft).
CENTER
3 m/10 ft Center speaker distance can be moved
up to 1.5 metres (5 ft) forward closer
to your listening position from the
front speaker position, in 0.3 metre
(1 ft) increments.
SURROUND
3 m/10 ft Surround speaker distance can be
moved up to 4.5 metres (15 ft) closer
to your listening position from the
front speaker position, in 0.3 metre
(1 ft) increments.

BACK
3m/10ft Surround back speaker distance can
be moved up to 4.5 metres (15 ft)
closer to your listening position from
the front speaker position, in 0.3 metre
(1 ft) increments.

CENTER
0 dB Adjusts the level of the center
speaker (–10 dB to +10 dB, 1 dB
steps).
SURROUND
LEFT 0 dB

speakers (–10 dB to +10 dB, 1 dB
steps).
SURROUND
BACK 0 dB Adjusts the level of the surround
back speaker (–10 dB to +10 dB,
1 dB steps).
SUBWOOFER
0 dB Adjusts the level of the subwoofer
(–10 dB to +10 dB, 1 dB steps).
FRONT
CENTER Adjusts the balance between the front left
and right speakers. The center position is
shown as “---”. (You can adjust from the
center, 6 steps left or right.)
OFF The test tone is not emitted from the
speakers.
ON The test tone is emitted from each speaker
in sequence. When “BALANCE” is
selected, the test tone is emitted from both
left and right speakers simultaneously.
When “LEVEL” is selected, the test tone is
emitted from only the speaker that you are
adjusting.
