If you copy a source tape, using the DUPLICATE W/TC (duplicate with
time code) button on this VCR, you can copy the time code recorded on
the source tape as they are. You can easily make a work tape having the
same time codes as the source tape.
The duplicate function on this VCR works only when using a source
tape recorded in DVCAM format and making DV connections.
Connect the LANC jack on this VCR to that on the other VCR, using the
LANC cable.

1

Connect this VCR and the other VCR, using a DV cable
and select “DV IN” with INPUT SELECT on this VCR.

2

Locate the point where you want to start playback or
recording. Then, set this VCR and the other VCR to
playback pause mode.

3

After pressing EDIT STANDBY, press DUPLICATE W/TC.
The indicator lights and this VCR enters into recording standby
mode. To cancel recording, press EDIT STANDBY again.

4

Press START/PAUSE.

To stop duplicate

Press p (STOP).

Notes

• When you start copying,

the first part of the source
tape may be dropped on
the copied tape.

• You may not be able to

copy the first part or an
unrecorded portion of the
source tape. Locate the
recorded portion on the
source tape, then start
copying.

• When you record on a new

or fully rewound tape, do a
trial recording for about 15
seconds, then start the
actual recording. If you
start the actual recording
from the beginning of the
tape, the first part may not
be recorded when you play
back the tape on another
VCR.

• The recording does not

stop the moment you press
p

to stop editing. The

source picture may be
recorded a little longer than
you expected.

• You can duplicate the

photo data only when you
use a tape recorded in
DVCAM format for a
player. If there is a portion
recorded in DV format on
the tape, recording is
suspended and beep
sounds. (When “BEEP” is
set to “OFF” on the SET UP
MENU, only recording is
suspended.)
